University of Phoenix MTE/518 2 Grade: Third Content area: Number & Operations in Base Ten Goal: Students will use place value understanding and properties of operations to perform multi- digit arithmetic. Learning *Explain the Rounding of numbers that are whole closest to 10 and 100 *Understand subtraction with algorithms and standards of operations Objectives: according to Bloom's Taxonomy Matrix *Create: a chart of numbers rounding each to the nearest 10th or 100th place *Evaluate: The Standards of Operations *Analyze: The connection between the standards of operations and algorithms. *Apply:The subtraction method within the standards of operations process. *Remember: The basic rounding to the 10th and 100th zone and what the standards of operations represent. (Standards of Operations: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction Reflection: (NOTE- I believe according to the assignment, it can be everyone’s input, please correct me if I am wrong.) Sariadeliz: One of the things to consider when writing objectives, is are they measurable, can my students accomplish these objective, and most importantly, can they be assessed. When I personally create a lesson plan, I try to make a plan B. The reason is, because of the time frame I consider was appropriate to teach the lesson, and if something comes up, I have a backup plan to engage with my students and still interpret the lesson. It is always good to make adjustment when necessary.
University of Phoenix MTE/518 3 Paul: Throughout a lesson, educators need to monitor their students and observe if they are grasping the material. If the students seem like they are having trouble then a review of the material is essential. Reshina: Bloom's Taxonomy Matrix represents the educational goals and standards within the classroom. The third grade number and operations base 10 objectives represent the basics of arithmetic, standards of operation, rounding if whole numbers and Algorithms. The goal aims toward students being able to evaluate, review, understand, and retain the data that is introduced. Shaquille: When you are writing lesson plans you have to make your objectives very moderate and do able for students. Creating a lesson plan you must be able to tweak your lesson based on the performance of your students. I personally feel that every successful educator are able to adjust their lesson based on the needs of the students.Students must be able to retain information not only retain it but be able to explain the lesson that you are learning. Summary: When creating a lesson plan, there are many things to take in consideration. One of the most important ones, is the objectives. These come from the standards at the national and state levels. The focus of the objectives in a lesson plan, is the instruction the educator is teaching, as well as the understanding of the students, and assess when necessary. The ideal way an educator can transmit the lesson, is exactly how it was planned or stated in the lesson plan. Unfortunately, this does not always happen and the educator is willing to make adjustments to the lesson. This happens when the educator tries to re-engage with the students if it is necessary, after all the goal is to transmit the instruction stated in the objectives.
