Analysis of a classroom scenario
“We have two ears and a mouth to be able to listen as much as we speak.”

Correct communication is essential for the creation of a positive educational environment. Hue and Li discuss a situation in the classroom in which a good and responsible student, but was lost interest in the class. The student separates from the teacher, telling him that he is tired of playing video games late. In the present work we are going to analyze the methods and interventions used by Miss Lee to connect with the student and parents.
Communication strategy with students and parents:
Communicate with the student.
Angela Watson, a teacher, and educational entrepreneur creates the 2 × 10 strategy. The idea is simple: spend 2 minutes a day for 10 days in a row talking to an at-risk student about whatever topic he or she wants to talk about. The strategy creates rapport and a relationship between teacher and student and allows the child to see that you really care about him or her as a person.
Teacher Lee should be consider Adopting 2 by 10 as a way to define why Siu Ming has regressed and shows behavior problems and disinterest.
The Higgs definitions of credibility for establishing relationships with students support this approach as well. Higgs notes that authentic learning activities can enhance students' ability and faith in their teaching professionals (Higgs, 2013).
Use engaging communication practices.
Another successful strategy that Ms. Lee could use is establishing contact methods. Encouraging communication activities encourages a shared communication style. The teacher and the student are actively interested in the interaction (Hue, 2008). Contact is attractive to students and is filled with empathy and compassion for students' feelings. (Hue, 2008).
The use of attractive communication methods has educational value because they promote the student's voice. More students engage in classroom culture and actions in classrooms with teachers who follow a communication style that is more welcoming than an inhibitory communication style (Hue, 2008).
Active listening strategy.
Miss Lee can make sure to practice active listening. This implies that Miss Lee can paraphrase Siu Ming's responses to make sure she understands what Siu Ming is saying. Miss Lee must be careful to let Siu Ming speak openly about her problems without interjection. It is essential that Siu Ming feel heard.
Miss Lee must also be careful to demonstrate supportive body language while speaking to Siu Ming. This will allow Siu Ming to continue expressing her feelings.
Active listening has educational value because it promotes constructive behavior in the classroom and a high degree of effort as teachers spend much of their day talking and
When offering advice, many students may feel that teachers are unable to listen.
By practicing active listening, teachers show students that they are there as people for them (Hue, 2008).
Communicate with parents
Call parents and express your concerns:
After talking to Siu Ming, Miss Lee should call home and talk to his parents about a change in behavior. When you call home, you can make sure your first name is used to build a supportive connection with your parents (Alber, 2017).
The teacher should start the conversation by discussing the positive characteristics of the student Siu Ming as well as when explaining the changes in behavior found; she should make sure that she only explains the student's actions, she should avoid applying labels to Siu Ming (Alber, 2017)
Home phone calls to families have great educational merit. Harvard researchers found some promising findings in a report on the impact of phone calls on parents. Results of the investigation have concluded that the contact between teachers and parents has increased the completion of tasks in the classroom by 40% (Alber, 2017).

Researchers have noted that home phone calls reduced the number of times teachers had to redirect students to the classroom. The researchers eventually found that phone calls from parents increased student participation in classes by 15% (Alber, 2017).
Use technology for constant contact with parents.
Excellent educational results are the result of excellent teaching, engaged students, and caring parents. Communication technologies can be used as a valuable support tool that gives parents access to the same teaching resources that are used in the classroom, so Ms. Lee should consider expanding her communication by using technology to her advantage. And not just making sporadic calls when there are problems.
Engagement with parents must be continuous communication. They should not only send out announcements and newsletters but create an opportunity for learning providers to find out what parents think.
Video sharing, interactive question forms, and other communications features allow schools to truly engage with parents beyond a simple one-way flow of information, giving Ms. Lee the advantage of even anticipating situations beforehand. Come to affect the student.
It is necessary to ensure that some form of follow-up takes place, regardless of the agreed means of communication.
An important part of classroom management is interaction with families regarding student success. The establishment of communication channels has educational merit because it consists of communication that encourages parents to help teachers. Parents know their children well. Sometimes when it comes to developing behavior strategies for their students, parents have efficient ideas to contribute (Hue, 2008).
