Student Assessment TASK 2:Knowledge Check Unit outcomes At the completion of this unit you will be able to successful demonstrate competency in: Accessing the information contained in current trends, government legislature and apply to the building and construction industry Establishing a management plans based around current energy conservation issues Developing a ECMP in collaboration with all stakeholders applicable to a building company. Delivery method This unit will be delivered using a blended approach. You will be required to attend classes as scheduled in your timetable, complete all learning activities as set by your trainer and assessor and a range of self-directed learning tasks. If at any stage, you are unable to complete any of the above activities you must contact your trainer/assessor immediately to make alternative arrangements. Assessment materials To complete these assessments, you will require access to: access to relevant documents referenced in the student workbook (or available in the Document Addendum) access to relevant structural principle standards and regulations (NCC 2015 Volumes one, two and three) project documentation, including design brief, design drawings, specifications, construction schedules and other supporting documents research resources, including product information and data relevant computer software package and suitable hardware Assessment summary Once you have demonstrated to your trainer/assessor that you have the required skills and knowledge for the unit they will inform you that you are ready to be assessed. To gain competency in this unit you must accurately complete the following assessment tasks. Task Description Due Date Assessment Task 1– Knowledge Check You are required to complete the questions in relation to student assessment note attachments. As per training plan Assignment Task 2A – Skills Test You are required to provide written response to the questions related to the attached legislative documents in the Document Addendum As per training plan Assessment Task 2B - Skills Test You are required to play out a role on an onsite building workplace scenario. This will require producing answers to real building questions requested during daily operations. As per training plan Assessment Task 3– Project Work You are required to provide written responses in relation to student workbook notes and assessment documents and group discussions. As per training plan If you are unable to submit an assessment on or before the due date you must decide with your trainer/assessor for an extension and a new submission date. Assessment results At the completion of each assessment task your trainer/assessor will deem your work to be: S – Satisfactory. You have completed your assessment task adequately meeting all of requirements. NS – Not Satisfactory. You have not provided enough evidence to meet all aspects of the assessment task. Once all assessment tasks have been submitted you will receive an overall result for this unit being: C – Competent. All of the required assessments have received a result of ‘S’ meaning you have demonstrated that you can successfully meet all of the unit outcomes. NYC – Not Yet Competent. One or more of your assessment tasks have received a result of NS meaning that you have not met the necessary requirements for that assessment. Please refer to the student handbook for further information on re-assessment. Reasonable adjustments An adjustment is any measure or action that you may require because of a disability, which has the effect of assisting you to access and participate in education and training on the same basis as students without a disability. An adjustment is reasonable if it achieves this purpose while taking into account factors such as the nature of your disability, your views, and the potential effect of the adjustment on yourself and others, who might be affected, and the costs and benefits of making the adjustment.

There may be more than one adjustment that is reasonable in a given set of circumstances. 4 CPCCBC5018A STUDENT ASSESSMENT TASK 2A Version 1.0 Orange International College Pty Ltd CRICOS No: 03446A | RTO No: 41315 Assessment conditions The assessments for this unit must be conducted in a quiet classroom or home study environment and/or simulated environment . The assessments for this unit must be conducted in a safe environment for the safety of all students and trainers/assessors. Your trainer/assessor will cease the assessment at any time that they believe it has become unsafe for yourself and/or others around you. If the assessment is ceased due to safety reasons your trainer/assessor may require you to undergo further training or make further adjustments to the task and/or environment prior to providing you with the opportunity to be re-assessed . Re-assessment If you are unable to show competency in all the required assessment tasks you trainer/assessor will inform you that you will need to undertake the assessment task again. Prior to undertaking the re-assessment process, you may be required to complete further learning activities to consolidate your skills and knowledge. Once you can demonstrate to your trainer/assessor that you possess the required skills and knowledge they will inform you that you are ready to be assessed again. Please refer to your student handbook for further information on re-assessment . Complaints and appeals If you believe that you have been unfairly assessed and wish to appeal your trainer/assessor decision or have any complaints in regard to your training or assessment results, please refer to our complaints and appeals procedure located on our website for further information. Plagiarism All work submitted must be your own work and not taken from any other source. Any information utilised to assist you with your learning activities or assessments must be correctly referenced and a bibliography attached. If the work submitted is found to have been plagiarised it will be unable to be accepted as a form of evidence towards this unit of competency. 5 Orange International College Pty Ltd CRICOS No: 03446A | RTO No: 41315 CPCCBC5018A STUDENT ASSESSMENT TASK 2A Version 1.0 General Instructions Mandatory completion of all Practical/Simulation Tasks in conjunction with this Assessment task must be conducted and deemed satisfactory to achieve competency in this task. All Practical/Simulation Tasks are tasks which will align to the duties performed in this capacity in the work- place. Any machinery or equipment that is used during the process of these assessment tasks must be safe for use and tagged if appropriate. All safety conditions performed under instruction of the Trainer must be fol- lowed in line with the Learner’s workplace policies and procedures; should the Trainer feel the conditions of safety are not met for the Learner’s assessment task, it may be re scheduled to a different site or day until the safety issue is rectified. The Learner’s site supervisor may be contacted in this event. If your Trainer feels the tasks has been not sufficiently covered, they may direct you to a similar task, in line with a secondary Practical/Simulation Task which will be clearly advised at the time of assessment. Multiple assessment of the same tasks may be necessary to ensure a satisfactory standard. Skill test may include role play, skill observation activities, case study questions etc. An observation checklist will be conducted during the completion of this task, your Trainer will notify you on the tasks they will be observing for this assessment. Task Instructions You will need to refer to given documents and answer the questions based on your reading. You must answer all the questions correctly to be deemed competent in the task. This task can be completed in classroom or at home in your time. You are not to work in groups. It must be your own work. Referring to S2 General Notes, what was the soil classification for the site, and what Australian Standard was used to classify this site? Class M. AS 2870 Residential slabs and footings. Referring to S3 General notes, what information was supplied to the builder on the plans for him to confirm the location of existing services prior to commencement of works? What method of construction was introduced to support and strengthen the load of the basement walls, and briefly describe the installation process? Mix proportions shall be designed by the contractor and shall be to the approval of the Engineer. All concrete shall be obtained from an approved concrete supplier and shall be premixed and delivered to site in accordance with AS 1379 . QUALIFICATIONS OF OPERATORS: All operators shall be to the approval of the Engineer. Prior to the commencement of spraying, the contractor shall certify to the engineer that the Forman, nozzle man and delivery equipment operatives have completed satisfactory work in similar capacities elsewhere.
