Tanya Ang SPCE 609 06/11/23 Data Collection Assignment 1. The target behavior to decrease for Anna would be the number of tantrum that occur when she is out in public. Operational Definition : Any occurrence of screaming or self-injurious behavior that occurs while out in public. Data Collection Method : Frequency I chose frequency data to be collected for this scenario because in order to decrease the amount of tantrums, we need to collect data on how many tantrums she has when she is out in public and keep track if the intervention is effective based on the data for the future sessions. 2. The target behavior to increase for Rupert would be the amount of time he is spending stocking shelves consistently. Operational Definition : Rupert stocks the shelf at any point during an interval of ten minutes. Data Collection Method : Partial Interval Recording I chose Partial Interval Recording because in order to increase the amount of time Rupert is spending stocking shelves, we need to understand and observe the frequency and duration of when he stocks shelves and when he tends to get off task. 3. The target behavior to decrease would be the number of tantrums Manny has due to interactions with other children. Operational Definition : Any occurrence of property destruction when being prompted to interact with peers (swiping or throwing items within the classroom). Data Collection Method : Frequency I chose frequency data to be collected for this scenario because we need to record how many tantrums Manny engages in and understand what “often” means to the teacher, in order to decrease the amount of tantrums he has before working on social skills such as interacting with the other children.
