My coffee shop will not only serve coffee with music-themed names, but it also will be decorated with vinyl records, cds, cassettes, and have other music decor to promote an interesting and welcoming environment. We will have a friendly, knowledgeable staff, and the shop will play music from local artists to help them promote their music, and sell their merchandise as well. On Friday and Saturday nights the show will remain open until midnight, allowing musicians to come and play their music in front of a live audience, giving them experience and exposure. I feel that all of this will help me relate to my customers and maintain our connection over time because we will be helping members of the local community, and help foster a feeling of unity and connectedness. From research I found, one article stated that by networking within the community and working with other local businesses, they were able to find success where others have failed. Evidence of community networking, involvement, and engagement were visible in all three coffee shops during site visits in terms of signed photographs of homegrown celebrities, the artwork of local artists, and flyers of upcoming community events.

Our brand is music and coffee, and how they both can bring people together.
I believe that while I would set the initial brand and establish the connection, the community and customers will continue it by coming back time and again for the ambiance and the connection to
the community. It will be more than a cookie-cutter coffee shop, it will be a unique and interesting place that people will talk about, and want to continue to frequent for years to come.
