GCU has a total of five core qualitative research designs that are able to be used for students’ dissertations. The designs that have been approved are qualitative descriptive design, case study design, narrative inquiry, and phenomenology design. These designs has the ability to guide the research in the direction that is need in the hopes of answering questions that the study is meant to solve. Qualitative design methods are used to gather in depth understanding of experiences told from the ones with perspectives or experiences in the area of study (Moriarty, 2011). When using qualitative descriptive design, the data collection tool that works well with the design is interviews. Interviews allows the research to get more information from a topic that does not have a lot of information presented in previous studies. Case study design works well with a number of data collection tools like interviews, observation, and journals. Case study design is used to gather in depth information, using multiple sources of data can help in the efforts. Phenomenology design is used when wanting to know real world information. Using semi-
structured interviews works will with this design because it is allowing the participants to lead the research. Narrative Inquiry design is used to tell a store. For this reason, interviews with opened ended questions would be the best fit for this design.

Can you summarize this paragraph?
Any practitioner can do action research because it is conducted in the workplace without disrupting the workflow. The action researcher is a practitioner-researcher who improves their practice, and generates knowledge by describing how they have improved it; therefore, research is not just the domain of those in academia. We don't have to wait for others to conduct research and provide us with new knowledge: we can create new knowledge, transfer it into our practice, and share it with others. Action research empowers the practitioner, benefits patients and often has a positive ripple effect on the entire workplace in terms of elevating practice standards, and boosting morale.
There are differing perspectives on action research in various professions, such as nursing, social work and education; it is also evolving to suit the needs of the dental team. The dental team needs more focus on action research that improves oral health by facilitating health…

A social psychologist plans to hand out surveys in her 300-level undergraduate class. The survey asks about students study habits. The psychologist does not ask the students to put their names on the survey; instead, students will put completed surveys into a large box at the back of the room. Because of the low risk involved in participation and the anonymous nature of the survey, the researcher requests to be exempted from formal informed cosent procedures. What ethical concerns exist for this study? What questions might an IRB ( institutional review board) ask?

What are the possible ethical issues within the research study?
How might ethical concerns influence the research outcomes of this research study?
What is the research design validity, and how can research bias impact validity? (Hint: Research how design validity and instrumentation validity are different concepts.)
How could stakeholders potentially influence this health care research?
What conclusions can you draw about ethics and validity in the research process based on the research study?
Cancer treatment during pregnancy can raise many difficult questions. Currently available clinical practice guidelines offer very limited ethical guidance for healthcare professionals. This article offers a theoretical framework and a practical ethics checklist for ethical and patient-centered care. It takes a holistic view to patient treatment, care and counselling that emphasizes the need to recognize the relational context of individual patient's autonomy; balance maternal and fetal…
