The Evolution of Music Over the Next 50 Years
Music is a major part of our culture that allows us to express feelings and thoughts,
connect with others, and unite communities of people. As one of the most powerful forces there,
music does a lot. Music is a very diverse layout of styles offering pleasure to all people. Live and
recorded music have long histories of influences from all parts of the world. Throughout my life,
I feel as if I relate to certain types of music over others but even that is ever changing. As we
move further into the future how music is recorded, written, and heard will be completely
reshaped.
When I think of music, I think of songs that are relatable but get you up and moving. At
my current age, I tend to listen to older rock and roll music and some the current day rap. Older
rock and roll is music that I was raised listening to, it is good music that is hard not to enjoy. It
also shows that as time progresses older music can still be mainstream. Current-day rap music is
a kind of love-hate relationship, although some of it is good some of it is rather awful in my
opinion. Most of the rap music today is full of slander, money, drugs, and violence. This is a type
of music that highly influences many people by glorifying a dangerous lifestyle. The one type of
music that I try my best to avoid is anything country. Country music has never been great to me
and as time changes the quality of the country seems to decrease.
Over the next 50 years, the changes and upgrades of the internet and technology will
greatly affect music. The ease of connecting and collaborating will increase which will allow
different cultures to create and share music. Immigration is also something that will continue to
happen which will further influence music bringing in new and interesting genres. As the
accessibility of the tools and technologies for creating music increases, there will be a more
diverse range of music being created. There will be an emergence of new music that are
combination of genres that currently exist creating something unique. Digitally streaming music
is already very popular but as technology evolves so will music platforms. Music will be
redefined and pushed to its limits in ways that I can't begin to imagine. Music streaming will
become the most dominant form of music consumption giving people more access to a larger
variety of music that will change the world demographics.
Although most people will enjoy music and the way it advances there will still be people
who disagree. These disagreements would come from people who share different lives and
traditions which can cause them to be a bit more subjective. However, if we can take the time to
learn and better understand each other's culture we can work to close that gap. As the internet
becomes more accessible it gives us a large platform to learn and talk with those of different
backgrounds to help better understand. By working to understand each other's music and the
changes it comes with we can live in a more unified world. Music can bring all people together it
just takes putting in the work.
