Core Values Essay
Integrity, Empathy, Perseverance, and being Open-Minded
Our core principles serve as guiding forces in our lives shaping our beliefs, actions, and interactions with the world.
Our core values, such as integrity, empathy, perseverance, and being open-minded, serve as guiding forces in our lives, influencing our beliefs, actions, and interactions with the world.
They act as a compass, helping us navigate the ups and downs of life. In this essay, I will delve into the origins of these values to gain insights into my character and motivations. These values give insight into my ethical choices, my ability to understand and relate to others, my determination to overcome challenges, and my willingness to consider diverse perspectives. I will explore each of these core values individually, examining how they have shaped my life and the world around me.
By delving into the origins of these principles we gain insights into our character and motivations.
Integrity is one of my values. It embodies the quality of being honest and upholding standards. My family played a role in instilling this value within me. My parents consistently emphasized the importance of honesty. Doing what's right when faced with difficult situations. I vividly remember an incident where my father discovered an extra $20 bill in his wallet due to a cashier’s error. Instead of keeping it, he immediately returned to the store to rectify the mistake. This act of integrity left a lasting impression on me. Highlighting how crucial this value is.
Empathy is another core value that I deeply appreciate, it involves understanding and sharing the feelings of others. This value was ingrained in me during my years through witnessing acts of kindness and compassion within my community. Whether it was neighbors helping each other during times of need or teachers displaying empathy at school, these experiences ignited a desire within me to make an impact on others’ lives. One memory that stands out to me is when our community came together to provide support for a family who had lost their home in a fire. The incredible show of empathy and assistance during that time left a lasting impression on me, highlighting the significance of compassion and understanding.
The value of perseverance has been deeply ingrained in me through experiences symbolizing the commitment to overcoming obstacles. As I journeyed through life, I encountered setbacks and hurdles. It became evident that achieving success often required resilience and unwavering determination. This value continued to grow as I learned how to navigate difficulties and pursue
my goals no matter how challenging the path may be. A turning point came when I faced difficulties during my school years. Rather than giving in to defeat I sought support and dedicated extra hours to my studies. Ultimately, I triumphed over those challenges reinforcing the importance of perseverance in shaping my life.
Over time being open-minded
has become a value that holds significance for me. It entails being receptive to ideas, cultures, and perspectives. Through my exposure to cultures and
interactions with people, from many different backgrounds, whether through travel or engaging with local communities, I have witnessed firsthand how embracing new experiences and viewpoints can broaden one’s horizons. While
living abroad I had the privilege of immersing myself in a community’s customs and traditions. For instance, Japan has one of the most developed and engrained cultures I’ve had the privilege of experiencing. I took it upon myself to learn important phrases, bow, and hand my credit card with two hands, all in the name of respecting Japan’s rich culture.
This experience made me realize the importance of valuing diversity. Strengthening my belief in the significance of being open-minded.
In this essay I have delved into four core principles that hold meaning to me: integrity, empathy, perseverance and being open minded
. These values have been deeply shaped by my family, local community, personal experiences and exposure to cultures. Understanding where these values come from has given me an understanding of myself and the guiding principles that shape my life. Our core values are not fixed, they develop as we grow. They act as our compass helping us navigate the complexities of life. Integrity ensures that I am committed to honesty and ethical behavior while empathy drives me to make an impact on others’ lives. Perseverance serves as a reminder to remain determined, in the face of challenges while being open minded
encourages me to embrace diversity and new perspectives. In a world that often puts our values
and beliefs to the test it is crucial to stay connected with these guiding principles. They not only shape our character, but also influence how we impact the world around us and build relationships. As I progress and grow, I will hold on to these principles relying on them to guide my way and create an impact in our society.
