To ensure that goals and objectives are DAP consider what is age-appropriate, what is individually appropriate, and what is culturally and socially appropriate for the learners for whom you are planning the curriculum. To write a goal, use verbs (action words) to describe what children will learn or do throughout the curriculum plan. Example Goal: Young children will appreciate nature by exploring the outdoors. Age Group:3 Year olds Goal 1: Getting to know the outside Objective 1: Tell the difference from outside and indoors. Objective 2: Talk about what they see and feel. Art with Nature Children will explore the use of objects found in nature (such as sticks, rocks, flowers, and grass) as a medium for art. Paint, glue, stamp-pads, and paper will be available for this open-ended, process art experience. *Children will expand their vocabulary by describing an experience.
