IPA 2: Interpretive Task F RNH 1101 Prof. Griffiths Giovanna Fonseca Watch the video Routine du matin + soir | hiver '19 published by Cynthia Dulude, a popular Canadian influencer. (You can stop watching at the 7:30 minute mark). Avant de regarder: Answer the following questions before watching the video 1.) First, read through video description written by Cynthia. She provides several different lists. What are these lists? (1 pt.) She provides lists of the products she used in the video. What she is wearing in the video. The music she plays in the video, and a list of promo codes. 2.) Next, read through the comments. Sort them by “Top comments.” Why are people leaving comments? What are the comments saying? (1 pt.) People are leaving comments saying they loved her video and the things she did in her video. Some people are commenting that they liked her clothes. 3.) Look at the comment left by applepie. What kind of video are they requesting? (1 pt.) She is saying that she would like to see her makeup routine. Now, read the questions that follow before watching the video. As you watch the video, try and take notes that may help you answer the questions as you watch. Then, answer the questions. (Note: The subtitles are very bad as they are looking for French from France, and struggle with the Canadian accent. It may help to adjust the video speed to 0.75.) Après le visionnage 1.) I think that she targets middle aged people from canada who have a good lifestyle and work from home. I also believe her target is women as she is showing the makeup she likes. 5.) Synthèse. Je fais mon lit. Je prends la petit-déjeuner. Je vais à mes cours. 6.) Comparaisons. What differences do you notice between Cynthia’s accent and the French accent you usually hear in class ? Try and be as descriptive as possible and cite specific words as examples. (2 pts.) I feel that it was extremely fast. I had to put the video slower in oder to understand some of what she said. Also I feel that there is more liaison as it sounds as if all of her words are connected.
