The Life Changing Experience of Caregiving Essay The Life Changing Experience of Caregiving My interpretation of caregiving and the extensive role a caregiver plays transformed while reading Emily Abel's novel, Hearts of Wisdom. When interviewing my grandmother, Marjorie Waguespack, her personal experiences reinforced many of the vital factors Abel believes are involved in caregiving. Caregiving includes major rewarding aspects from varying standpoints. Emily Abel wholeheartedly believes, "the three major components of care–instrumental, spiritual, and emotional–sometimes conferred significant rewards" (60). Caring for an individual can be difficult and may require substantial sacrifice, but oftentimes the benefits outweigh the costs. With these components, an extensive network of ...show more content... If a physician was called, death was inevitable (42). My grandmother wholeheartedly disagrees with Abel's ideas. She trusted her doctor literally with her life. Emily Abel emphasizes that doctors proved to remain unreliable and costly. She illustrates the difficulties of summoning a physician; "transportation difficulties not only delayed doctors' arrivals but also prevented them from providing continuing care" (41). My grandmother lived in a different kind of situation. The town she resided in consisted of almost all relatives; where as in Abel's stories, the doctor most likely would be required to travel long distances to provide care. Transportation served as a significant challenge that prevented care from being rendered in a timely fashion, especially if major trauma or an acute sudden onset condition was involved. My grandmother did not experience this obstacle. My grandmother explained, "[T]he doctor's office had registered nurses and a few rooms available for more care, if needed, for twenty four hours a day." In other words, help was almost always available. The local doctor's instrumental value benefitted the surrounding community. This local resource came in handy with her multiple children. My grandmother had four daughters that she cared for on a daily basis. She explained how Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
Life Changing Events LIFE CHANGING EVENTS In this essay you had the option to choose a life event that has changed you. But I chose to give a list of events that has made me who I am instead of just one event that changed a little part about me. This essay will show what has happened in my life for me to be the way I am to this day. This is me. First of all there was my grade seven camp. Although I have an unclear recollection of the camp I still remember the important bits. One thing which I know for sure is that I never really wanted to go on the camp. The school teachers and my parents had to force me to go. Two days before the camp started I decided to go. The big reason why I didn't want to go was because I was very shy and didn't like ...show more content... Its amazing how much things u remember about your childhood if you just sit down carefully think about it. The events that I've mentioned are probably the only ones that have made me whom I am. Who knows, if I'm 25 years old maybe there will be many more. Maybe an event or change is taking place right now and I might only realize it later on. I know that some of the events have changed me for the better and some for worse but what I do know is that it made me wiser. If you think about carefully if I have another ten similar events like these before I'm 21, could you imagine how wise and how knowledgeable I would be? Those were the events which have most influenced me and made me whom I am to this very Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

My life changing experience all began on June 3, 2014 when I was a Freshman in high school and things weren't going the best. Struggles through high school are very common but for me I dealt with things I couldn't even handle. I struggled relentlessly all through high school and with my home life as well , but I was never prepared for what happened that summer when I was 14. Growing up everyone argues and fights with their parents, some don't even have functioning relationships with their parents. However for or me, my dad wasn't really around and my mother struggled with addiction. Things began to take a turn for the worst on Mother's' Day, when I had come home from being over my best friend, Paige's house all weekend. I knew that ...show more content... Once outside I justified why I left, what occurred that night, and why I was going to continue to stay with Karen. They took me down to the station where I told them about my previous family issues, in which they later agreed to let me go back to Paige's home. The very next day I was sitting in Biology class when I had gotten a text from both Paige and her mom saying all but four words, "everything will be okay". But by that time I knew it wasn't. And this is where my involuntary Foster Care story begins. I was placed into a group home on June 3rd 2014, and that's where my life began to change. One can only imagine how that must feel and as much as I was upset, scared, angry and so on, I tried to keep it contained. I never thought it could ever get to that point, but while I was there I met my foster sister who later became a really close friend, Kerri. As you could imagine when I first got there and even for the following couple of weeks, I was reticent and closed off. I had never been in a situation like this and I just wanted to be with my best friend where i felt safe. Over the course of 7 months, I went through many court dates and a tremendous amount of anguish. I went about 5 months without talking to my mother and it was truly torture some, especially not be able to go home. Many things came my way while I was away and over the course of time I became close with Kerri and Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

We all go through hard times but it is about how you look at them because you can make light in every situation. It is about how you let those rough times determine the type of person you are gonna be when they are over. There is a point in everyone's lives, when their life will completely shift because of some major event that happened to them. That situation does not have to determine who you will be or what you will do. You cannot dwell on past events because it will only hurt you in the long run. We need to grow from those type of things because every situation is temporary. To begin with, my life changing experience was when my parents got into motorcycle accident, that killed my dad. They were on the way home from a restaurant, on highway two when my dad passed out on the bike. Both of my parents were thrown off. My dad was thrown into the corn field and we think he landed on something hard or the impact of being thrown off was too strong. He had broken multiple bones and went into multiple organ failure, which forced the doctors to put him into a induced coma. My mom was luckier, she walk away from the accident with just two broken arms. She was released from the hospital within the first couple days. Secondly, the accident happened on Friday the 13th, the summer of 2014. I was twelve years old and I talked to my Dad for the last time ever, the night before the accident. The last thing we said to each other was, "goodnight and do not let the bedbugs bite, I love you". I saw my mom the day of the accident, we went to eat but my Dad was working all night. After that, my mom dropped us off at our cousins for a sleepover so she could meet up with my dad. Later that night, I got a call from a random number , which I never usually answer random numbers but I had a strong feeling that I should. When I answered, my parents friend was crying and trying to explain to me that my parents got into a bad accident, at that point I had to give my cousin the phone because I was a wreck. After that, we went to Porter Memorial Hospital where my mom was but I would soon find out my dad was not. I saw my mom that night but not my dad until the day he passed away. I will never forget the way my parents both Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
Life Changing Experience In My Life Treat others how you would like to be treated. We've all heard the saying and we all know that it's simply something we should all believe in. It's burned into our brains from a young age. But most of never have put that action or thought about doing it. I know that I never did. Until April 7, 2017 the day before I had made an awful decision that landed me a trip to the principals brand new, freshly painted, horrific room. As I walked into that room I was fearful, unsure of what was gonna happen to me knowing what I had done was awful. The principal and I discussed what I had done and After talking about it she had me think about the golden rule. She made me tell her the Golden rule but not only that. She made me think and talk about it until I fully believed that the golden rule is something we should all follow for every second of our lives. Before this life changing experience had happened my eyes had been sealed shut and I was astonished when the new thought of it crossed into my mind allowing me to understand it. I had heard the golden rule at least one hundred times, however I had never realized how life altering this could be. I never thought about all of the positive effects it could make in my everyday life. In the past I had just shrugged it off just listening when people told me this but once they were done talking I would forget it all as if I didn't care what they said. However because of the mistake I made on April 5, 2016 I now feel that the golden rule is Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Life Changing Experience Essay Life Changing Experience About one year ago I had a life changing experience, a trip to a little town called Kerry on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland. It was the most beautiful place that I have ever seen. Being in the presence of such beauty helped me see life from a different perspective. I was just going to be happy, appreciate what I have, be open–minded, not take anything for granted, and love everyone and everything. When I came back from Ireland I was truly happy, nothing could make me upset. But after awhile my constant elation came to a gradual end, but I was soon to find that even though my elation ended I was going to be a happy, loving, and open–minded person forever. And there was everyday influences like ...show more content... Someone doesn't die for something they don't appreciate. When I think about those movies I am really happy, because I am lucky, free, and free to seize any opportunity that comes my way. Art also reminds me of my happiness, a single piece of art work can capture a moment of emotion or feeling. Artists like Claude Monet really capture emotion well, in the painting, "The Stroll: Camille Monet", Monet painted Camille standing in the middle of a field, it sounds simple. But Monet did such a good job that there seems to be more, there is emotion. That is what makes art special, emotion, and that I can have my own thoughts about what the artist is trying to say through their painting. In the Edward Hopper painting, "Route 6" there is a real warm feeling coming from it. That warm feeling is one of the best emotions that I have experienced, the only other time I get that feeling is when nature is at it's best (sunsets, sunrises, grassy fields, ect.). That brings me to the artist Liz Sexton, her paintings of nature are some of the most beautiful, natural, and unique pieces of art that I have ever seen. I think that I am on of the luckiest people in the world to be able to appreciate this artistic beauty, that in its self makes me a happy person. Life Changing Experiences In My Life There have been many painful and life changing experiences in my days, but the most unforgettable and also life changing experience was the time I was ran over by a golf cart. This story goes to show that even the most painful and troubling situations can have positive outcomes. God has a plan for everything that happens in our lives; all we need to do is go in blind and there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Trust in him, and he will take care of us. It was a cold afternoon and as my family prepared for church, my older sister decided she would very much enjoy a small ride on the golf cart that my grandparents had acquired a while back. My sister, in her most kind hearted way, asked if I wanted to travel with her on the buggy to the church early and, of course, I accepted her invitation on this luxurious offer. I scurried down the stairs, grabbed my penny loafers, ran back up the stairs, and out the door to the buggy, which was halted in the driveway with my sister waiting. After I hopped on, she pulled out of the driveway and traveled down the road on our way to church. The service was very inspiring, as always, and the knowledge that I had acquired made my day even better. As we walked out the doors of the church and headed to the buggy, I asked my sister if I could drive back to the house but, as expected, she declined. A little bit of happiness left my heart as I mumbled, "Oh, ok. I guess I will just walk home." As my sister scooted to the edge of the entrance Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
It can be daunting thinking about what you want to major in in college and what you want to do for the rest of your life. Even when you think you have it figured out, you end up changing your mind later on. Many people go into college undecided and waste their time taking classes that they don't end up needing. A life changing experience can influence you in the career choice you want to make. For the majority of my senior year in high school , I never knew what my plans were after graduation. I knew I had to go to college because if I didn't I would very much disappoint my parents. Whenever a teacher or mentor would ask me about my plans after high school I would always say something different. At first, I wanted to be a teacher. Then for some reason I decided I wanted to be a dermatologist. Finally, my answer to the infamous question was, "I don't know, I'm not really sure what I want to do yet." A few months later and after many more people asking me the same thing, I would go through a life changing experience. It was a typical day; I was running errands with my family. My siblings were in the back and my mom was in the passenger's seat. When I'm driving and I know I have my family riding with me, I try my best to be the best driver on the road. I keep my distance from the cars in front of me but somehow on this day something peculiar happened. The car in front of me unexpectedly braked and I found myself too close, with not enough time to brake without crashing into Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Essay on A Life Changing Experience First day of the rest of my life, my stomach is in knots and I can't seem to do anything with my hair. I have all my pens, papers, notebooks and other miscellaneous items stuffed into my brand new blue book bag. My mother is down stairs on the patio drinking her morning tea watching the world wake up. I gave my brand new shoes a quick shine, checked my hair about three more times each time finding something new wrong. Mother yells at me from down stairs . " You're going to miss the bus!" The bus! I can't believe my ears . I can't show up to high school on my first day by riding the bus. I was scared I needed my mother to drive me to school. Somehow knowing my mother was going to be there part of the way made it a little bit easier ...show more content... The first day of high school went over with a blast. My classes were just fine and my teachers were supreme. Everyone was just so nice and friendly. I only cried once when I couldn't find any of my classes. The bell had rung everyone scattered off to his or her assigned rooms, everyone except me. I was stuck in the middle of the courtyard trying to figure out the school mapping system. Frustrated and embarrassed I broke down in tears and ran to the nearest restroom. The day continued from that point on a happy note. I could not wait to get home to tell my mother all about my day. As the dismissal bell rung, I hurried off to find the right bus to go home. I was frightened that I would get on the wrong bus and end up on the other side of town. Uneasy I asked four different people where bus 647 was parked. As I entered the bus I recognized familiar faces of those from my junior high. Some friendly and some not so nice. I took my place in middle of the bus and glanced out the window watching the trees and cars go by. As the bus grew closer to my stop I became more and more giddy with excitement. I could not wait to tell my mother about my new adventure. As soon as the bus was out of sight, I ran all the way home with a huge smile on my face from ear to ear like a Chester cat. As I ran down the street I noticed shattered pieces of glass all over the road and a chunk on the street lawn missing. It looked as if a huge bull dozer rode Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Everyone has that one experience that makes them look at life with a new set of eyes. My life changing experience happened a little earlier than most. It was the summer before first grade. We had gotten an exceptional amount of rain in the past months even though it was summer. I did not notice, though, because summer was every six year old's favorite holiday, next to Christmas and their birthday. My summer was supposed to be like any other but it quickly took a turn. For the best or for the worst? That is debatable. June 8th, 2008 was the day my whole life turned upside down. It was a hot and humid Sunday afternoon. My blond, curly headed six year old self was taking a nap on the couch in our living room with a huge window that looked out over our front yard. I used to love to stand at that window during the summer and look at the bustling neighborhood. My mom and little sister were taking a walk around the neighborhood, while my dad was in our garage tinkering with something. Around three o'clock, my mom and sister came running into the house through the front door. This may sound normal but my family always came in through the garage, unless we were in a hurry. My mom woke me up while my sister repeated something that I could not decipher. It took a couple minutes for my brain to register what she had said. She kept repeating, "There's water in the street." My initial thought was that it was raining. My younger self could not grasp the concept of raging waters flowing down a suburban street. So, I jumped off the couch and ran to the giant window in our living room. I peeked through the blinds. From what I could see the neighborhood was completely normal. Then I saw it. Several people from the neighborhood were standing outside on their freshly cut lawns, yelling to each other. My dad heard all of the ruckus so he came in and asked, "What's going on? What's all that outside?" So, my mom turned on the tv to the news channel and sat down on the couch. One of the reporters was standing somewhere that I recognized as the place I had lived in my whole life. Why would they need to come to Columbus? Nothing ever happens in Columbus. I wondered. I asked my mom, "What's going on? Why are those people here?" Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
How Adversity Changed My Life Throughout life, we all become acquainted with life altering experiences, some changing us for the better, others for the worse. It is our job, as individuals, to either learn and develop in the face of these experiences or to dismiss them without looking back. They are what shape our very character, our foundation for the future . Without them, we'd be empty shells, individuals without any substance to guide them. Even though I am still quite young, I've already had quite my fair share of these experiences, and for that I am extremely thankful. Academics, community service and adversity; all have contributed to my development in one shape or another. Without these experiences, I would not be the self that I know myself to be. Nothing is of greater importance. I feel as if adversity has played the greatest role in shaping my character and personality. May it be financial instability, parental problems, or even just plain stress, they have all taught me valuable lessons that I will cherish for years to come. My family has always had trouble, both with financial stability and familial stability. We've never been able to do all of the things that normal families get to do. For example, I don't remember the last time my family went on a genuine vacation, let alone a vacation will all of us together. This also plays a role in our familial instability. We are by no means a close–knit family: we fight every day, we never spend quality time together, and we are always holed up in Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

An Experience that changed my Life Life is full of learning and it is mostly due to our daily life experiences. These experiences are mostly based on our surrounding environment from where we learn new things every day. But all these experiences are a result of our keen observations out of daily routines. It is very important to note that life also provides us with some chances to experience new people or places that are indeed out of the ordinary. That is the time we indeed learn new and unique things, hence these are unique experiences of our life which are remembered by us throughout our life span. I have visited USA and this was indeed a life time experience. Going through new and strikingly important things really made me filled up with pleasure. It was indeed very joyful and marvelous experience. I am very happy and expecting many more things and unique experience coming my way and making me enjoy new and exciting things. USA is a place which is full of new experiences that is what makes it even more exciting due to all kinds of diversity in food in recreation and work; hence everything here is much more diverse than a normal place available for recreation anywhere in the world. I have logic to testify my statement in terms of the reference that USA being an economic hub invites people from all parts of the world. One can always have the chance to meet many diverse people belonging to different cultures, traditions and lifestyles. So, one can enjoy a small world here in USA. I met people from different parts of the Asia–Pacific region, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Africa, Europe, Russia and Indonesia. Life Experience Essay Life is full of exciting experiences for us to enjoy. However, these experiences are meant to teach life lessons that should remain with us. In my 17 years of living, I have had many lessons to be learned from events I have gone through. One of those lessons sticks out above the rest and it has a humorous story to go along with it. The story starts out with the group planning a get together while eating breakfast at Mcdonald's. Ideas were flowing out of our heads like a river. We could not agree on a plan of action for the longest time. Finally, it was decided that we should go to Kenzie's house after she said her dad would cook for us. I was immediately down for that idea because I knew her dad makes the best chicken wings ever. The rest of the day for me was spent thinking about what to wear that night. Eventually, the time came for heading over to Kenzie's house. Bailey, another girl in the group, asked me to give her a ride since she did not have her driver's license. Because of this, we were one of the last ones to make it to Kenzie's. In the time that we missed the group decided that they wanted to go and toilet paper some of our friend's houses that lived close to Kenzie. I had never done something like this before. However, the excitement of doing this and avoid being caught appealed to me. We all piled into the cars and headed to Wal–Mart to buy the toilet paper . We had an interesting event that happened to us while we were in Wal–Mart. The event was when Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Personal Narrative: My Life Changing Experiences Everyone will undergo a life altering experience at some point. It may only change a small aspect of everyday life, or it may change everything. Sometimes it is a surprise, other times it can be panned for; either way, no one is ready for the changes that are soon to follow. A lesson is always taught by these life altering experiences, but not always learned. I realize tragedy is inevitable, I remember that when I think about cancer taking my best friend, my mother. I was young at the time, but never young minded! I knew well beyond my years, but I learned more than any teacher could ever teach me when that awful disease won the battle. My momma was always my favorite person, my confidant, and ultimately my ride or die. ...show more content... On January 20, she received a call that I was on the way; that was not her first rodeo though, she had already been involved in four other adoptions with my brothers Eddie and Bryan, and my sisters Candy and Nicole. At the age of 18, after her first born child, she got news that she had a brain tumor and would soon have undergo surgery. For most, that would have ended dreams about having a big family, but not her, she saw this as an opportunity to help more people. She knew children needed a home and she had one to give. That is the type of person she was, if there was a way to help she would find and pursue it. She had the biggest heart, I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. My mother had many honorable traits that include: being humble, honest, and reliable. She gloated of her success or material items or rub it in people's faces nor did she think she was better than any other soul. My mother was brutally honest, she definitely was not a person I would want to insult because she had no problem calling someone out in front of a crowd. She had the ability to make someone feel like they were either on top or completely under the Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

An Experience That Changed My Life Essay Introduction: In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that change a person's perception happens to be an experience that they have gone thru and learned from. In my case it wasn't necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on life. My mind and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was strange that pet owners loved and treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general definitely changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because of a dog that entered my life. People say a man's ...show more content... The funniest thing is; she never turned to the left. She would always make circular movements to the left in a quick fashion. Seeing this made my so happy. I would find myself looking forward to it when I was parking the car in the driveway. Tacha was one greedy dog too, she knew that she was not allowed in the kitchen, but the second she thought someone wasn't looking she would run in the kitchen and snatch whatever was left out on the counter. One time I remember ordering Pizza and the family was all in the dining room eating, and when my son went to grab another piece he noticed that the entire box was on the floor, and the pizza was gone. To our surprise Tacha ate all the pizza. My family would always find this funny, but there were plenty of nights when we couldn't get seconds on dinner because it was in Tachas belly. Tacha was a smart dog, she was also aware that she was not allowed to get on any of the beds in the house. This didn't stop her though. On several occasions one of us would walk in the house, and within 1 second we would hear a loud thump and Tacha running down the stairs. The loud thump was Tacha jumping off the bed. Times were not always so funny with Tacha, but I never loved her any less. One day Tacha was in the back yard getting some fresh air. I recall attaching her to the chain and going back in the house. About 1 hour later, the neighbor was banging on my front door screaming, "Come get your dog, come get your dog, she's chasing Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

A Life Changing Experience Ankit Bhardwaj ENG111–13D Mr. Treanor 10 November 2017 Essay 1 draft 3 A life–changing experience "Everyone thinks that a new place or a new identity will jump fast a new life." – Caroline Leavitt. My story starts in the year 2017 when I decided to follow up on my dream and go to a far–away land, called the United States of America. My journey is full of new surprises and discoveries of a world so different from the one I am leaving behind, with its own beliefs and culture. This is the story of an eighteen–year boy and his first encounter with a new society, his first time away from home and family. It was not an easy decision moving to a different country, leaving behind everything and everybody, but I had the anxiety of traveling and seeing this new world that I had seen only in the movies, the land of Christopher Columbus, where Indians and African–Americans lived unified on a vast territory. I still remember the feeling when my parents said that we are moving to America. It was the time when I felt everything around the world had been stopped, and I did not know what I should do next. I was unable to decide whether life was making me move forward or it would cause me to face more trouble than achievement. I was amazed by looking at the Diversity of people. I knew that there were drastic changes which would be arising in my life which I seemed that it was hard to digest, but it seemed that the USA absorbs everyone in their colors and culture so was I, in the mélange Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Essay On My Life Experience On the other hand the first statement I choose that exemplifies my life experience is "I feel attracted and drawn or called to a spiritual journey" (Atchley, 2009, p. 64). There may be a stage in an individual's life where they can be unfulfilled with the direction of their personal trajectory. I genuinely believe that the contemporary main–stream society we reside in places too much emphasis upon the pursuit/accumulation of material possessions, endeavoring to maintain a youthful appearance, the acceptance of self–indulgence and completely removing God from our daily lives. I perceive that without engaging in God's will and by assisting one another an individual can attain meaning and purpose in their life. In addition by aiding other people who may need assistance an individual is not primarily contemplating upon their problems but instead placing the cares and concerns of others before their own. The class literature articulated that: "something happens to create an opening, an invitation that may come in many forms: an experience that suggests we are not who were though we were, feeling homesick for a place we don't recall being before or an experience of an alternative universe in our consciousness" (Atchley, 2009, p. 64). Therefore people that have converted to Christianity may perceive that this physical plane is not their long–term residence and that it is a temporary destination and our permanent home is residing with God in heaven for all eternity. Life Changing Experience In Life For many, a life changing moment comes in the form of a tragedy or a hard–earned revelation. Mine came in the form of a five–year–old girl named Sofia. Sofia spent most of her time in the oncology ward of the hospital where I volunteered. Her days consisted of sterile hospital rooms, scans, and chemotherapy. She was losing her hair because of chemo when most girls her age were learning how to braid theirs. She played with a doll (Mr. Buttons) in her hospital room instead of playing with other children. Sofia wasn't lonely in the traditional sense. Family, friends, and even strangers visited the little girl, but could barely interact with her. Most of the time, she was too tired to play and, when she finally mustered the energy, she found herself behind a glass panel. The doctors thought it best to keep Sofia isolated, to minimize her chances of falling ill in her already feeble condition. And, indeed, this is how I interacted with Sofia for a month. Week after week, hour after hour, I'd go to the glass wall to see if she had awoken and would spend an hour that felt like seconds, playing with her. I suppose that's relativity for you. Sofia was both the highlight and heartbreak of my week. Comments like, "Poor thing" and "It's just not fair" were heard as often as the incessant beeping of the monitors. Talk is cheap, and pity doesn't make progress. I had to do something. It is very rare to come across an opportunity to make a fundamental change in the lives of thousands. Driving to the courthouse, I could feel my heart pounding so hard as though it was going to beat right out of my chest. It felt like butterflies fluttering over a breezy meadow. The closer the time got for us to say our sacred vows to each other; my heart felt like a rose blooming endlessly. As I turned to him and the judge pronounced us man and wife , I felt like I was on cloud nine. Our marriage is full of surprises and happiness. The blessings of our marriage began when we were blessed with another son. We learned a true lesson on how to be the best parents that we could be to these boys. I could tell he was scared about being a father. He is a wonderful father to the boys; he loves to go out and shoot basketball, and kick around a soccer ball with them in the yard. He tries to be a decent father figure in their lives. Being able to teach the boys right from wrong is another lesson for us to learn as couple. There are times he has to discipline them for things that they do wrong. We always do our best to work as a team to work out our disagreements. I found for us to work as an effective team, we have to listen to each other's perspectives and find the pros and cons to our disagreement. The present is here, the future is to

Life Changing Experiences Of Change In My Life There are hundreds of experiences that have had some sort of impact on my life. Some are very small and some are much more life altering. Although, these life changing events do not happen often, they happen to everyone. I have had a few major, life changing occurrences in my lifetime, some are good and some are not so good. One of them that stands out the most to me and has impacted me the greatest is something everyone experiences at some point in their lives. For me, it was on October 20th, 2015, when I was 13 years old, the day my first dog Lucky died. Lucky was a little Jack Russell Terrier that my mom and dad had bought when he was only a few months old. They had adopted him in Belgium, about a year before I was born. Lucky had been ...show more content... I texted my mom during lunch asking how it went. She said that she would tell me later. That was the first warning sign, but I just brushed it off. When my mom picked me, I immediately asked was how Lucky was. My mom was acting much different than usual, she was very quiet. She told me that the vet said Lucky had kidney disease and all they could do is give him pain medicine and try to keep him alive until that weekend when my dad got home on Friday. My first reaction was denial. All I could think was, surely a dog that I had loved so much all my life could not die. I refused to believe the truth, I spent the entire evening looking up kidney disease, trying to find a solution that did not exist. I refused to eat or leave Lucky's side. I knew his health had been declining, but I kept telling myself Lucky will get better. The issue was, I was only denying the inevitable. The next day was the hardest of my life. At school, I could not focus, all I could do was think about Lucky. That night, I had to cheer at a game about an hour away. At first I was not sure if I wanted to go, but my friends convinced me it would be good to get my mind of Lucky for a little bit. Around the middle of the first quarter I saw my little brother show up with one of his friends. I immediately knew something was very wrong, why would my brother come to an away game, especially so far away without my mom, I knew my mom did not have anything going on that night.
