Module Two Question 1 Describe one of the beliefs and values of the Navajo as illustrated in your readings. In my reading, one of the beliefs that Navajo Indians had was respect for the four mountains that round the territory of the Navajo Nation. This belief was a natural law out of respect for the land. Module Two Question 2 Describe one way in which the Navajo have incorporated their beliefs and values into the societal structure on the reservation since regaining some autonomy in the 1970's. One way the Navajo have incorporated their beliefs into their societal structure on the reservation would be by prioritizing their healthcare within their government. The Navajo did not want to be influenced or pressured by the other Native Nations or the budding United States' beliefs in how healthcare should be run. Module Two Question 3 What beliefs and values can be found in your culture? How do these beliefs and values influence your day-to-day life? Many ideas and values can be discovered in my culture, one of which is loyalty toward your family and friends. Family values are a powerful and widespread value that can be found in the majority of American homes. My family and I often spend the holidays with one another as a tradition. My immediate family, which consists of my wife and I and our two dogs, significantly impacts my day-to-day life—bringing me joy and spending quality time laughing at one another's jokes. Module Two Question 4 Adopt the social science perspective to create a list of questions about this issue. Write at least two questions each from the point of view of a psychologist, a sociologist, and an anthropologist. 1. Are there developmental issues with the children with the constant absence of the
parent or parents? 2. Are there any studies about mental health before and after a parent's first deployment with the children? 3. Are the children struggling to assimilate to school when having to move around every three years? 4. Will bonding or a closer family unit lead to a lower divorce rate in the military? 5. Are the children physically different from parents who have served in the military? 6. How do the families adapt to losing a family member or friend?
