Assignment: Reggio-Inspired Schools
Pros:
1.
In Reggio Emilia, adults view every kid as special, competent, and full of potential. In the classroom, a child's job is to build information and improve skills via experimentation, self-expression, and partnership with classmates and teachers. (Saltz, 1994)
2.
This idea has a practical effect, fostering a co-learning atmosphere where teachers engage in collaborative learning with students rather than working in a hierarchical manner. Additionally included in that relationship are each child's parents and community. (Flavin, 2020)
3.
After World War II, parents in Reggio Emilia, Italy, began the program because they thought that educating children needed a new, better method. They devised a curriculum that placed a strong emphasis on civic engagement, accountability, and respect. In a safe and stimulating setting where the curriculum is tailored to the kids' interests, kids are free to explore
and learn. (Entwistle, 2017)
4.
Notes, pictures, tape recordings, and videos are used to capture the work, play, and conversations of children. The educators carefully go through these and use them to inform their curriculum and project choices based on the kids' interests, concepts, and developmental preparedness to pick up new abilities. (Saltz, 1994)

year-olds). 2.
How can the teachers encourage parent involvement when the parents are full-time working and rush out during drop off and pick up? I know we as educators could call them in for a meeting or schedule a phone call but that would just be another thing the parents have to add to their to do list. 3.
If elementary schools adapted this philosophy here, how would they recommend inclusion of each state’s standards? I’ve always heard from other
