What do you consider to be the most important things you learned?
The most important things I have learned these past weeks has been how to search for specific records. Through understanding how to search for records effectively I can find valuable information for my ancestors. This will also benefit me when someone is in need of my assistance in finding their own family records. My favorite way to search has been the specific collection search by map. How have you grown?
I have grown in the way I see family history research. My view was very narrow as I didn’t really know how to search records effectively. With
a better understanding and knowledge I have been able to look at research differently. I see the importance and have much more a desire to
put myself to work on researching. So, I would say that I have grown a little more mature spiritually as I can see the purpose and mission behind family history work. In what ways have your opinions changed?
My opinions have changed like I said above having a different view of family history work. I would have to say I have also changed in the way I go about research. With more research tools and information available to
me I have been able to in depth research instead of just surface level. How has your testimony of the gospel and family history work grown?
My narrow-minded view of how family history research should be has changed into an enteral view. I know without a doubt how important this work is both for me and for my family in the past, present, and future.
What new knowledge do you possess?
I possess a new knowledge of how to research for my ancestors. I feel like I have always thoughts that since most of my maternal ancestors have all their vital information nothing else was needed to be done. Well, I
was obviously wrong. The work is never done here. There is always so much to discover and search for. How does your learning fit with your personal, spiritual, educational, and/or professional goals?
