Haida Language Resource Evaluation Consider the following while assessing the pros and negatives of
the Haida language resources:

Interactivity: Check if your resources have tests, activities, or speaking and listening practice.
2.
Community Involvement: Ask if the Haida community or other experts support the contents
this may boost credibility and authenticity.

Update frequency: Check to verify if the resources are updated frequently to stay current
and reflect language changes.

Evaluating resources individually is easier with direct access. However, materials' correctness,
cultural relevance, and usability are strengths. Substance, engagement, and community involvement
may be lacking.
c) How could they be improved?
You might suggest the following to improve the usefulness of these materials:
Expand the content: Deepen and expand lessons to incorporate more linguistic competencies
and subjects.
Increase participation: Use interactive tasks, quizzes, and multimedia to interest students.
Engage the community: Work with native speakers and cultural specialists to ensure the
resources authentically reflect Haida culture and language (Genesee, 2018).

preserve your language(s)? Why?

requires encouraging children to speak that language at home. Immersion language-learning
programs may help (Ochs, 2022).
Volunteering for community language and cultural programs indicates community involvement.
Talk to local speakers and culture specialists to improve your language abilities.
Language teaching resources language-specific publications, apps, and online training improve
language skills. Produce excellent language.

importance of preserving it for future generations to your children.
Keep your language's oral histories, stories, and traditions alive. Be sure to document.
