The information that can be distributed to the caller is very limited. The only thing that could be revealed is that law enforcement has been dispatched and are en route. The caller should be informed to remain inside his home and to not interfere. How should this information be communicated? This information should be communicated by the dispatcher in a calm, clear, understandable, and professional manner without using any jargon language. Why is it important to communicate to the caller in a particular way? It’s important that there is no misunderstanding from the caller so that the individual remains free from harm and remains a safe distance from the individual that is being
reported. The dispatcher’s tone of voice can also keep the caller calm and can assure him that law enforcement will arrive momentarily. How should your communication with the caller align to the mission and brand of the organization? It helps by providing you a clear and effective means for making decisions associated to the incident. Audience: The Male Subject In 100–150 words, answer the following: What types of information can and should be communicated to the male subject? Information that could be shared with the male subject is that he is with law enforcement. They received a call to 911 stating he was acting out erratically, and that his spouse allowed them to enter the property. They are in the means of negotiating with him to exit the room he has locked himself in. How should this information be communicated? This information would be addressed verbally as the male subject is in a different room behind closed doors. Clear, calm and direct verbal commands should be used to address the subject. Why is it important to communicate to the male subject in a particular way?
To establish trust with the subject and give him a reason to cooperate Also de-escalation is important as you wouldn’t want the situation to go out of control Also you should try to get as much information from the subject as possible to develop a careful and strategically developed response. How should your communication with the male subject align to the mission and brand of the organization? The communication with said male subject should be in line with the mission and brand of your organization be incorporating protecting everyone involved as well as be peaceful and maintain a type of order. Audience: The Press In 100–150 words, answer the following: What types of information can and should be communicated to the press? This would be on a “need to know basis” Basic shared information would be a man has barricaded his self in his house and the area it is taking place. The age and race may also be shared with the media. How should this information be communicated? Could be shared through an interview whether in person or by phone The media could file an open records request as its public information

Why is it important to communicate to your department in a particular way? It’s imperative to communicate within your department as it allows others to be properly informed that have also been called to the incident about all parties involved and what is going on in detail. How should your communication with your department align to the mission and brand of the organization? The communication within your department should align with their mission and brand of the organization per its policy and procedures. This allows you to effectively and successfully relay important information and positively push you in the right direction by making wise decisions and align everyone on obtaining the same goals.
