Find the surface area and volume of the solid.

The surface area of rectangular prism $=158in{.}^2$

Calculation:

As the given solid is rectangular prism.

The surface area of rectangular prism $=2(lw+lh+wh)$

  $\begin{array}{l}=2(8\cdot 5+5\cdot 3+3\cdot 8)\\ =2(40+15+24)\\ =2(79)\\ =158\end{array}$

So, The surface area of rectangular prism $=158in{.}^2$

The volume of rectangular prism $=l\cdot w\cdot h$

  $\begin{array}{l}=8\cdot 5\cdot 3\\ =40\cdot 3\\ =120\end{array}$
