Solution

Find the coordinate of $N(-3,8)$ after the given transformation. For rotations, rotate about the origin. Translate up 3 units.

Concept Used:

• 90° clockwise rotation: (x, y) becomes (y,-x). 
• 90° counterclockwise rotation: (x, y) becomes (-y, x).
• 180° clockwise and counterclockwise rotation: (x, y) becomes (-x,-y).

Calculation:

Coordinate of $N(-3,8)$ .

On translating $N(-3,8)$ to 3 unit up the coordinate of N will be $N\text{'}(-3,11)$ .

Graphing the coordinate of $N(-3,8)$ and translating $N(-3,8)$ to 3 unit up - $N\text{'}(-3,11)$ .
