Summary Introduction

Introduction

Research shows that there is evidence to suggest that it possible to repress and recover memories of traumatic events that happen in one's life. Memories of abuse at a young age, such as sexual abuse, are particularly common types of memories that tend to be repressed. Repressing memories can lead an individual to become an over-eater or to be depressed, seemingly with no explanation as to why. While some people believe that buried memories are a hoax, others believe that they are real and can, in fact, be uncovered after many years.
