Introduction

As one might guess, on a standard twelve-person jury, the majority most often wins the argument about whether the person on trial is guilty or not guilty. The minority has virtually no chance at swaying the majority's opinion on that from the outset. However, there are some instances where the minority does have a chance at changing the others' opinion.
