Compare the prices, suitability and storage capacity of a laptop with predetermined specifications and its further customized upgrade done on the dell website www.dell.com.

Explanation of Solution
Given:
Dell is considered as the fastest manufacturing company on earth and specializes in computer customization. Connect to Dell’s website www.dell.com and visit the portion that allows you to customize either a laptop or desktop. Choose an already prepared system and compare its CPU speed, RAM size, monitor quality and storage capacity with the customized version of it based on same parameters.
The system under investigation is XPS 1500 touch.
The configurations of the system are listed below.
Standard | Customized | |
---|---|---|
Name | Dell, XPS 15 Touch | Dell, XPS 15 Touch |
Cost | $1899 | $2159 |
RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB (cannot be customized) |
Hard Drive | 256GB(included in price) | 512GB ($200) |
Operating System | Windows 10 Home, x64 | Windows 10 Pro, x64 ($60) |
The only hardware modification that can be done in the system is in its storage capacity. The customized system is the one that is more preferred by me. As, it comes with the 16GB internal RAM and the extra storage capacity of 256GB with an increased cost of $200. Also, the operative system is upgraded from the standard Windows 10 home to Windows 10 Pro. It is also recommended from the company’s website.
Conclusion:
Customization capability provided by dell on its products is extremely useful from consumer perspective. A single product model can satisfy the needs of large number of customers who have varying requirements in terms of RAM, CPU speed and storage capacity.

- Q11arrow_forwardMethyl alcohol at 25°C (ρ = 789 kg/m³, μ = 5.6 × 10-4 kg/m∙s) flows through the system below at a rate of 0.015 m³/s. Fluid enters the suction line from reservoir 1 (left) through a sharp-edged inlet. The suction line is 10 cm commercial steel pipe, 15 m long. Flow passes through a pump with efficiency of 76%. Flow is discharged from the pump into a 5 cm line, through a fully open globe valve and a standard smooth threaded 90° elbow before reaching a long, straight discharge line. The discharge line is 5 cm commercial steel pipe, 200 m long. Flow then passes a second standard smooth threaded 90° elbow before discharging through a sharp-edged exit to reservoir 2 (right). Pipe lengths between the pump and valve, and connecting the second elbow to the exit are negligibly short compared to the suction and discharge lines. Volumes of reservoirs 1 and 2 are large compared to volumes extracted or supplied by the suction and discharge lines. Calculate the power that must be supplied to the…arrow_forwardQ15arrow_forward
