Hypothalamus contains nucleus which regulates the amount of eating in a person. It is divided into anterior, dorsomedial, ventrolateral and central. It is responsible for regulation of metabolic activities inside the cell. The other functions of the hypothalamus include control of thirst, fatigue, sleep and circadian rhythms.
