The image of the polygon is shown in figure (2).

Explanation of Solution

The coordinates of the polygon are:

  $\begin{array}{l}J\left(-2,0\right)\\ K\left(2,4\right)\\ L\left(8,0\right)\\ M\left(2,-4\right)\end{array}$

The graph of $\text{quad}JKLM$ is shown below.

The scale factor is $\frac{3}{4}$.

The new coordinate are $\left(x,y\right)\to \left(kx,ky\right)$. So,

  $\begin{array}{c}J\left(-2,0\right)\to J^{\prime }\left(-1.5,0\right)\\ K\left(2,4\right)\to K^{\prime }\left(1.5,3\right)\\ L\left(8,0\right)\to L^{\prime }\left(6,0\right)\\ M\left(2,-4\right)\to M^{\prime }\left(1.5,-3\right)\end{array}$
