The ratio of hares to lynx at different interval is shown in Table (1) and from the graph it can be concluded that the population of hares is more than the population of lynx.

Explanation of Solution

The equation for the population of lynx is given by,

  $L=11.5+6.5\sin \frac{\pi }{5}t$

The equation for the population of Hares is given by,

  $H=27.5+17.5\cos \frac{\pi }{5}t$

From the graph the ratio is calculated as,
