Chapter 9, Problem 4TYU
Summary Introduction
The cell cycle is an essential process by which cells increase in number while maintaining genetic stability. In an organism, cell cycle is vital for growth and regeneration. However, it has to be tightly regulated to avoid dire consequences. In cell cycle, a mother cell is divided into two identical daughter cells and this process is mainly divided into three phases, namely interphase (G1, S, and G2), mitosis (prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase), and cytokinesis. Cell cycle checkpoints regulate each stage in the process of the cell cycle.
