The reasons behind the drastic alterations in the carbon cycle in a modernized society.
Answer to Problem 1QR
The forests play an important role in maintaining the carbon cycle balance. The plants intake the carbon during photosynthesis and balance the amount of it in nature. Hence, the destruction of forests disbalances the complete cycle.
Explanation of Solution
The human activities in today’s era are changing the carbon cycle drastically. The upcoming mechanized conveyance that involves the use of petrol or diesel and the power generation system release a huge amount of CO2. The increase in the gas also result in the increase in temperature which further leads to global warming.
The frequent destruction of forests for meeting up the demand of human beings for resources also messes up with the carbon cycle on a large scale. The main reason for the disturbance in the carbon cycle due to forest destruction which has decreased the process of photosynthesis, thereby increasing the amout of carbon in the environment.
