Concept introduction: The abnormal growth of skin cells is defined as skin cancer. They usually develop from the cells of the epidermis, the superficial layer of the skin, wherein the DNA present inside the skin cells is damaged. It also alters the immune system, which in turn alters the genetic progression and forms neoplasm. Squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, and Kaposi sarcoma are three major types of skin cancer.
