Considering both absorption and scattering the total solar flux reaching the earth’s surface is about 1.08 × 10 8 GW and the total amount of this energy reaching the earth’s surface in a year is about 3,400,000 EJ. This amount of energy is 6000-8000 times more than the total annual global energy requirement. The total annual global energy requirement is only about 6000 GW which can be produced by utilizing 0.1% to total solar energy at an efficiency of 10%.
