Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

To find out the potential functions of a given system.

Concept Introduction:

When it is possible to write the system as $\dot{\text{x}}\text{ = -}\nabla \text{V}$ then the function V is called a potential function for $\dot{\text{x}}$.

Importance of potential function is that, whenever it exists for the system, a closed orbit is not possible.
