Data mart:
It is an access/structure pattern specific to data warehouse environments. It is used to retrieve client facing data. It is known as the subset of the data warehouse and is oriented to a specific business team or line. Whereas data warehouses cover the enterprise-wide depth, data marts focus on single department. In some cases, each department or business unit is considered as the owner of its data mart that includes hardware, software and data.
