Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The expression for energy levels, $E_{\text{n}}$ for a particle in a box of length $L$ has to be written.  A similar expression $E{\text{'}}_{\text{n}}$ has to be written when the length of the box is decreased to $0.9L$.  The value of fractional change in energy that results from decrease in the length of the box has to be calculated.

Concept introduction:

A particle in a box of mass $m$ is confined to a region of one-dimensional space.  The potential outside the walls of the box is zero, while inside wall, the potential is $\infty$.
