Summary Introduction

To predict: The three reasons why the immune system might not respond correctly to foreign material in the body.

Concept introduction: Immune response is a set of responsive mechanisms carried out by the immune system of the body to fight and defend against invading antigens (bacteria, viruses, or any other foreign substances) by producing antibody molecules. In the body, plasma B cells produce a wide range of Y-shaped protein (antibody or immunoglobulin) that has a specific structure compatible to different kinds of antigens.
