RFID stands for Radio frequency identification. RFID reader uses radio signals to communicate with a tag placed in or attached to an object, an animal, or a person.
- Example: Each product in a shop would contain a tag that recognizes the product. As the customer takes away the products from the store shelves and walk through a checkout area, an RFID reader reads the tag and communicates with a computer that estimates the amount payable and updates the inventory.
