Program Plan Intro

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP):

  • HTTP is one of the application protocol for distributed and hypermedia information systems. For World Wide Web, it is mainly for data communication. It was actually developed in order to make use of hypertext and World Wide Web.
  • It is an application layer protocol within an internet protocol suite. It is a stateless protocol that need not require HTTP server to find out the status of each user for the duration of multiple requests.
  • An HTTP session is actually a sequence of network request response transactions.
  • To a particular port on a server, an HTTP client starts a request by establishing a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connection and an HTTP server waits for client’s request. When the request is received, then the server sends back a status line and its message. Although an error message is returned, this message body is actually the requested resource.
