Chapter 7, Problem 15TF
Java does not allow the statement to use subscripts beyond the boundaries.
Hence, the given statement is “True”.
Program Plan Intro
Array:
An array is defined as a group that consists of similar data types.
- The array size must be specified by an “int” value and not long or short.
- In Java, all arrays are allocated dynamically.
- An array is always indexed, starting from 0.

JAVA Programming Problem 3 - Temperatures
Write a program that uses a two dimensional array to store the highest and lowest temperatures for each month of the calendar year. The temperatures will be entered at the keyboard. This program must output the average high, average low, and highest and lowest temperatures of the year. The results will be printed on the console. The program must include the following methods:
A method named inputTempForMonth whose purpose is to input a high and a low temperature for a specific month. The month and the array of temperatures will both be passed as input arguments to the method. The method will not have a return value.
A method named inputTempForYear whose purpose is to input a high and a low temperature for every month of the year. There are no input arguments for this method, but the method does return a completed multidimensional array of temperatures for the year.
A method named calculateAverageHigh whose purpose is to calculate the average…
Project 5 - Magic Squares
Objectives
The objective of this project is to have students practice with two-dimensional arrays and loops.
Specifications
In this project, you will write code to determine if a two-dimensional array of ints is a Magic Square. For a two-
dimensional array of ints to be a Magic Square all of the following must be true:
1. The array must be square - in other words, the lengths of all rows and all columns must be the same.
2. The array must contain all integers from 1 to n*n, where n is the length of the rows and columns.
3. The sum of the numbers in each diagonal, each row, and each column must be the same.
You have been given two classes:
• MagicSquareTest.java - Contains JUnit test cases for the MagicSquare class. Your code must pass all these tests.
• MagicSquare.java - contains static methods to determine if a two-dimensional array of ints is a Magic Square:
o isMagicSquare() - returns true if a two-dimensional array of ints meets all the criteria to be a…

3. Find the Culprit
by CodeChum Admin
"Help!!!"
Someone's calling for help! It seems that someone was robbed and their phone was stolen. Luckily, the phone's GPS is turned on so we can track the culprit's coordinates!
Instructions:
Ask the user for the number of rows and columns of a 2D array and then its elements.
Then, ask the user for another integer value which represents the culprit.
Finally, go through the 2D array and find the culprit's coordinates - its row number and column number and display them.
Input
1. Number of rows
2. Number of columns
3. Elements of the 2D array
4. Culprit's value
Output
Print the row of the position first and then the column of the position. Note that the row and the column is 0-based (i.e. it starts at 0 and not at 1). It is guaranteed that the culprit exists only once in the 2D array.

- javaarrow_forwardLotto Program C++Write a program that simulates the Powerball lottery. In Powerball, a ticket is comprised of 5 numbers between 1 and 69 that must be unique, and a Powerball number between 1 and 26. The Powerball does not have to be unique. Hint: You can use an array to represent the 5 unique numbers between 1 and 69, and an integer variable to represent the powerball. The program asks the player if they'd like to select numbers or do a 'quickpick', where the numbers are randomly generated for them. If they opt to select numbers, prompt them to type the numbers in and validate that they are unique (except the powerball), and in the correct range. The program then generates a 'drawing' of 5 unique numbers and a Powerball, and checks it against the user's lotto ticket. It assigns winnings accordingly. Because it is so rare to win the lottery, I suggest hard coding or printing values to when testing the part of the program that assigns winnings.arrow_forwardprogramming used: javaarrow_forward

Display the array after the user inputs each value. Rotate/flip the array by changing places. Make the rows columns and vice versa. You have to move the elements to their new locations. Remember to validate the input and display an error message if the user inputs invalid data. Documentation and the screenshot(s) of the results. Each array should be declared in main() and be capable of holding 10 double-precision numbers. The numbers to store in current are 10.62, 14.89, 13.21, 16.55, 18.62, 9.47, 6.58, 18.32, 12.15, and 3.98. The numbers to store in resistance are 4, 8.5, 6, 7.35, 9, 15.3, 3, 5.4, 2.9, and 4.8. Your program should pass these three arrays to a function named calc_volts(), which should calculate elements in the volts array as the product of the corresponding elements in the current and resistance arrays (for example ,volts[1]=current[1]resistance[1]). After calc_volts() has passed values to the volts array, the values in the array should be displayed from inside main().arrow_forward
