Concept introduction: According to kinetic molecular theory postulates,

  • Particles present in the gas have consistent and random motion. They collide with each other or the walls of their container and these collisions are elastic in nature.
  • The average kinetic energy of every gas particles is directly related to temperature. The speed of gas molecules increases with increase in temperature. Due to this force and frequency of collision of molecules also increases.
