Introduction:
Arterial blood gas (ABG) is an important part of representing the clinical status of a patient. It measures the pH and gas pressure values for an artery. This means the acidity level and the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels are known with the help of the ABG test. This indirectly affects the levels of oxygen saturation and arterial bicarbonate (HCO3−) in the arterial blood.
