Allosteric regulation is a mechanism of regulation in enzymes like phosphofructokinase $\text{ATP}$ is an inhibitor of this enzyme and $\text{ADP}$ is an activator of this enzyme and it is a regulatory process. The enzymes have specific fitting pockets where $\text{ATP}$ binds and alters the conformation of the enzyme and activates it for the formation of products from the substrate molecule.
