Identity crisis experienced by Erickson in his life and contribution in his theory.
Introduction:
It’s satarical that the person who has given this term “ identity crisis” had this problem with ownself and that helped him to define this exactly. Erickson had very troubled childhood, his real father had left her mother and later jewish step father when had given his own name to him, that also became the troublesome part of his life.

Explanation of Solution
Erickson theory was based on psychosocial stages in which each level of life leads to another good level of development if the earlier level was framed good, and no fixation is there then child is able to fully enjoy each part of life. As if one gets fixated at first level of development then he will not trust anyone, which will hinder his development and become trouble for identity development of one person as Erickson in his whole life tried to frame his identity because of childhood experiences of his life. He felt like he will never be able to frame his identity.
So, according to him, childhood experiences can play an important role in every one life as per Erickson and no fixation can lead to identity development.
