The main difference between mitosis and meiosis is given below:

    The cells are clone, which means the genetic composition of the parents and the daughter cells is same.

    It occurs in the germ cells.

    The cells produced are not genetically identical, as they are haploid and recombination of genes causes the genetic variations.
