SaO2 is defined as the amount of haemoglobin that is saturated with oxygen and PaO2 is defined as the pressure of oxygen in the arterial blood. The oxygen transport study gives us information about the total oxygen delivery (Do2), oxygen consumption (Vo2) and oxygen extraction ratio (O2ER).
