Introduction:

A monosaccharide is the simplest form of sugar, which can be further combined through glycosidic bonds or glycosidic linkages to form large carbohydrates, known as oligosaccharides or polysaccharides. The oligosaccharide molecule is made up of a small number of molecules of the monosaccharides. The polysaccharides are made up of the units of long chains of molecules of monosaccharides. These monosaccharides are joined together with the help of the glycosidic bonds.
