Summary Introduction

To determine:

Why disorders of collagen produce widely varying symptoms?

Introduction:

Connective tissues are the most abundant type of tissues by weight. They are located throughout the body. They bind structures, provide support and protection, fill spaces, store fat, serve as a framework, produce blood cell, and help in repairing tissue damage.

Collagen is a component of connective tissue that accounts for more than 60% of the protein in bone and cartilage. They provide 50-90% of the dry weight of skin, ligament, tendons, and dentine of teeth. Collagen is present in eyes, blood vessels, linings, and basement membrane.
