Adaptation:
It refers to the ability of organisms to adapt to the changes in the environment for survival. There are four types of adaptation namely, genetic adaptation, developmental adaptation, acclimatization or physiological adaptation, and cultural adaptation.
Genetic adaptation occurs at the population level and it is inherited. Developmental adaptation occurs at the stage of growth and development of the individual. Acclimatization occurs at the individual level anytime during the life of a person. Cultural adaptation occurs when material culture influences the life of individuals.
