Introduction: Based on the concentration and osmosis that takes place, the solutions can be of three types. They are isotonic, hypotonic and hypertonic. In a solution, when the concentrations of the solute outside the cell are greater as compared with the concentration of the fluid or cytosol inside the cell, then it is said to be hypertonic.
