Introduction:
Pulmonary circulation refers to the flow of blood from the right side of the heart to the lungs through the pulmonary trunk. Systemic circulation refers to the flow of blood from the left side of the heart to all the tissues. Pulmonary circulation operates for the oxygenation of the blood, which have been deoxygenated, while the systemic circulation is for the distribution of blood throughout the body. The pressure in the vessels of both these circulatory systems varies. The pressure in the pulmonary circulation is low as compared to that in the systemic circulation.
