Introduction:

Organisms detect light using photopigments, the proteins linked to pigment molecule that absorb a specific wavelength of light. This initiates the alteration in the chemical configuration that causes a response in the organism. These photopigments are present in the eyes of organisms, whereas the bodies of the plant contain phytochromes.
