A symbiotic relationship generally refers to mutually beneficial interaction between two different organisms. Here, it is between corals and single-celled algae called dinoflagellates, which provide shelter to algae and other compounds to perform photosynthesis. The algae prompt the development of the coral by sharing them with sugars and fats that are formed through photosynthesis.
