Case summary: In the given case, VP is a popular brand of all kinds of pickles and folks decided about the market for large pickle slices which are made from bringing cucumbers. Therefore, to make large slices of pickles, they need large cucumbers which created a problem for them because at that time large cucumbers didn’t exist. To find out large cucumbers they crossed a variety of cucumber types and they needed to wait for several weeks because cucumber plants need time to get mature. Then, through a number of attempts and tries, they found large cucumbers but the taste of these cucumbers was not good. After that, they again went through different varieties of cucumbers and waited for other several weeks to get results but this time, they found large cucumbers with good taste. But then, one more issue arose when the pickle slicing equipment was broken down while larger pickles were trying to slice.
