Introduction:

Pituitary gland is an endocrine gland which secretes hormones directly into the blood. It is a pea shaped structure that is found at the bottom of the brain. This pituitary gland is directly connected to hypothalamus through the nerve fiber. The pituitary gland has two lobes: The anterior pituitary (adenohypophysis) and the posterior pituitary (neurohypophysis). Both parts are involved in the release of different hormones and in different functions.
